The renovation of Altın Orfoz Hotel involves the comprehensive transformation of an existing 130-room hotel located within its own private bay. Covering approximately 13,000 m², the building consists of a ground floor and three upper levels. The project was shaped not only by the renewal of the interiors, but also by rethinking the hotel’s spatial organization, circulation, and relationship with its outdoor spaces.

Spatial issues within the existing building that affected the guest experience were addressed through revisions to the layout of the common areas, while guest rooms, shared spaces, and service areas were reorganized in response to contemporary needs. The outdoor program, including the main entrances, open-air dining areas, pier, and fish restaurant, was redesigned to establish a stronger and more continuous relationship between the hotel and its natural surroundings.

The interior design approach draws on the character of the region and its historical layers as key references. Rather than creating a directly thematic narrative, color, materials, textures, and artworks were used to reinterpret these references in a contemporary way. A restrained material palette and a simple design language, aligned with the calm atmosphere of the natural setting, were used to create continuity across the different spaces of the hotel.

Through these interventions, Altın Orfoz Hotel was reimagined as a resort that responds to the scale, location, and natural context of the existing building, creating a calm, timeless atmosphere with a strong sense of place.
